As the guitarist and co-founder of The Doors, Robby Krieger helped shape one of rock music’s most indelible sounds. A self-taught guitarist who fused flamenco, blues, and Eastern music into a style entirely his own, Krieger co-wrote some of the band’s most enduring songs, including the timeless “Light My Fire,” which he famously penned at age 20 and which went on to become one of the best-selling singles of the 1960s. Together with Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, and John Densmore, Krieger helped The Doors sell more than 100 million records worldwide, earning them a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

Krieger’s singular slide guitar technique and melodic sensibility left a permanent mark on rock, blues, and psychedelia. Beyond The Doors, he has released numerous solo albums and collaborated with artists across genres, remaining an active and vital creative force more than six decades into his career.
